In terms of anarchy in Somalia last of two and half decade there was great disintegration among of the community with resulted instability and restless in all of Somalia which mainly contributed deferent factors driven with natural and human disasters caused and contributed by absent of central governments management unique for all-in the country. Hence the Education institution was faced critical circumstance that contributed the out of centralized policy of education scheme the consequence for disintegration civil conflict as well as the sequence droughts impact in the country also enhanced the absent of national unity system in the country, therefore for this reasons affected and emerged the different Education institutions with their own having dissimilarity curriculums which is not matching one another though it was much better than nothing, hence in this purpose huge number of students are benefited for these private institutions setup during of anarchy continuation for two and half decade or more, despite this Education system was benefited those who can afford to pay school fee while mainly school children out of schools are more huge numbers the reason of inaccessibility of school fee, nevertheless there are humanitarian organizations which is inclusive local and international organizations that obviously role-play the variety of education activities like multi activities of education system such as: emergency education, alternative basic education system that highly benefited by the vulnerable IDPs and marginalized host community which was not able to participate private school education system hand by the private institutions (umbrellas) the result of financial matters.
However SHARDO is one of the national NGOs that actively implement emergency education program through collaboration with education stakeholders inclusive international donors like UNICEF,ADF and ECW which are great partner with SHARDO last of 10 years in mainly emergency education program and vocational training (TVET) , for instant SHARDO implemented education projects which are mainly education in emergency in area of Middle Shebelle and Banadir regions partially in Bal’ad and Warsheikh districts of M/Sh region as well as the Abdulizie, Bondhere and Karaan of Banadir region while there was included formal as well, however SHARDO current in hand project funded by education cannot wait ( ECW) in geographical area of 7 villages under Bal’ad district that have no opportunity education last of two decade, this project for education are benefiting huge number school children reached 2,114 students from IDPs and marginalized host community, the enrollments the indicated below table per school after achievement:
MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS REACHED ECW PROJECT
- Community entry implement through collaboration with MoE of federal, state and district level to be aware each stakeholder at initial of project stage process.
- Selection of land for construction traditional learning spaces (TLS) setup on consultation for each village community parts accomplished in presences all stakeholders.
- Advertised Bid for privates companies for construction two TLS consist each five classrooms, ten latrines for friendly spaces with hand wash facilities and water tank and bid period from 1st October 2017 and open bid analysis on 11 October 2017 for assuring the winner company, therefore Ayan Company success the procurement equation.
- Awareness related for school enrolments each project target villages implemented and successes.
- Selection of 30 teachers from the target community villages through process of test with consultation of community elders
- 30 teachers given better training related with classroom management, way of teaching and DRR package
- 21 school CEC were trained method of school managements, peace and reconciliation
- 30 teachers for ECW Received their incentives base of the project period from November 2017 to July 2018
- Hygiene and sanitation awareness continuation conducting by CEC through project life
- School enrolments mobilization ongoing house to house by CEC, teachers and school children parents
- Total students benefiting learning education in current reached 2114 students (1043 are girls).
- 2,114 (1510 learners) from IDPs and vulnerable host community were provided with emergency supplementary food in initial project of six months in base with project plan.
- 1510 learners (660f) from the IDPs and host communities are provided with emergency supplementary food, safe drinking water, as well as hygiene and sanitary pads kits distribution for 250 girls adolescents out of the targeted 660 to help retain them in school.
